
Service Intervals
Servicing Your Machine
IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Operating in extreme conditions may require more frequent service intervals:
· Engine components may become dirty or plugged when operating in extreme heat, dust or other severe conditions.
· Engine oil may lose efficiency if vehicle is operated constantly at slow or low engine speeds or with frequent short trips.

Please use the following timetables to perform routine maintenance on your machine.
After Each Use
· Check for loose, missing, or damaged parts.
· Clean debris from radiator inlet screens.
Break In After First 5 Hours
· Check and tighten roll-over protection system (ROPS) hardware.
· Check and tighten drive wheel hardware to specification115 N·m (85 lb-ft).
· Check and adjust park brake.
· Check caster spindle torque 60-80 N·m (44-59 lb-ft).
Break In After First 15 Hours
· Check and tighten roll-over protection system (ROPS) hardware.
· Change engine oil and filter.
Break In After First 50 Hours
· Check and tighten roll-over protection system (ROPS) hardware.
· Change hydraulic oil and filter.
Every 50 Hours or Yearly
· Lubricate front caster spindles.
· Lubricate mower deck lift support blocks.
· Lubricate mower deck spindles.
· Lubricate 60 inch mower deck idler pivot.
· Lubricate mower deck push arms.
· Lubricate height-of-cut detent.
· Lubricate engine drive shaft.
· Lubricate pto drive shaft.
· Check and adjust park brake.
· Clean battery and check battery fluid level.
· Clean hood sealing surfaces and check for wear.
· Check and tighten roll-over protection system (ROPS) hardware.
· Check and tighten drive wheel hardware.
· Check mower deck belt for tension and wear.
Every 100 Hours
· Clean under engine cover.
· Powerwash deck without shields.
Every 200 Hours
· Change engine oil and filter.
· Check water separator bowl. Remove water from bowl.
· Check alternator belt and fan belt for wear and tension.
· Check air intake hoses, hydraulic lines and hoses, radiator hoses and clamps.
· Clean radiator and oil cooler fins.
Every 500 Hours or Yearly
· Change hydraulic oil and filter.
· Change fuel filter and clean water separator bowl.
· Check coolant freeze point and clarity.
· Change mower deck gear box oil.
Every 1500 Hours or Two Years
· Check valve clearance (See the Technical Manual or your John Deere dealer.).
· Check fuel injectors. (See the Technical Manual or your John Deere dealer.).
Every 2000 Hours or Two Years
· Change engine coolant and thermostat, if using COOL GARD CONCENTRATED SUMMER COOLANT (TY16034).
Every 3000 Hours or Three Years
· Check fuel injection pump. (See the Technical Manual or your John Deere dealer.).
· Change engine coolant and thermostat, if using COOL GARD PREDILUTED SUMMER COOLANT (TY16034).
As Needed
· Replace fuses, light bulbs and battery.
· Check and adjust transmission neutral.
· Check and align control levers.
· Adjust tracking.
· Replace radiator hoses.
· Replace fuel lines.
