Servicing Your Machine
IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Operating in extreme conditions may require more frequent service intervals:
ˇ Engine components may become dirty or plugged when operating in extreme heat, dust or other severe conditions.
ˇ Engine oil may lose efficiency if machine is operated constantly at slow or low engine speeds or with frequent short trips.

Please use the following timetables to perform routine maintenance on your machine.
Before Each Use
ˇ Check fuel tank, fill if necessary.
ˇ Check engine oil level.
ˇ Test safety systems.
After Each Use
ˇ Clean debris from machine.
ˇ Clean debris from engine, especially cooling air screens.
ˇ Check for loose, missing, or damaged parts.
As Needed
ˇ Adjust alternator belt tension.
ˇ Adjust front wheel toe-in.
ˇ Adjust brakes.
ˇ Replace taillight bulb.
ˇ Replace warning light bulb.
ˇ Check radiator hose clamps.
ˇ Check fuses.
ˇ Clean or replace battery.
ˇ Lubricate seat side rails.
ˇ Check tire air pressure.
Break-in-After 1 Hour
ˇ Check wheel bolt torque.
Break-in-After First 50 Hours
ˇ Change engine oil and filter.
ˇ Check alternator belt tension.
ˇ Check radiator hose clamps.
ˇ Check air filter hose clamps.
ˇ Check wheel bolt torque.
ˇ Check for loose, missing, or damaged parts.
ˇ Change transmission oil and filter.
ˇ Clean transmission suction screen.
ˇ Check tire air pressure.
Every 10 Hours or Daily
ˇ Check engine oil level.
ˇ Check wheel bolt torque.
ˇ Check transmission oil level.
ˇ Check air filter rubber dust unloading valve.
ˇ Check air filter air restriction indicator.
ˇ Check radiator coolant level.
ˇ Check fuel filter sediment bowl.
ˇ Check and clean grille and radiator screens.
ˇ Check safety interlock system.
Every 50 Hours
ˇ Check MFWD oil level.
ˇ Lubricate machine grease fittings.
ˇ Check wheel bolt torque.
ˇ Check tire air pressure.
ˇ Check battery electrolyte level.
Every 200 Hours
ˇ Change engine oil and filter.
ˇ Inspect alternator belt and check tension.
ˇ Clean fuel filter sediment bowl.
ˇ Check and clean radiator cooling fins.
ˇ Lubricate 3-point hitch.
ˇ Check battery electrolyte.
ˇ Check transmission oil level.
ˇ Check MFWD oil level.
ˇ Lubricate machine grease fittings.
ˇ Check wheel bolt torque.
ˇ Check tire air pressure.
ˇ Lubricate selective control valve (SCV) linkage.
ˇ Check primary air filter.
Every 500 Hours
ˇ Check primary air filter.
ˇ Check air filter hose clamps.
ˇ Replace fuel filter.
ˇ Check engine speeds.
ˇ Change MFWD oil.
ˇ Change gear transmission oil, and filter. Clean suction screen.
ˇ Inspect fuel injectors. (See your John Deere dealer.)
ˇ Adjust engine valve clearance. (See your John Deere dealer.)
Two Years or 2000 Hours
ˇ Replace thermostat.
ˇ Flush and replace factory coolant. Replace coolant with John Deere COOL-GARDŽ engine coolant.
