Removing The Mower



c CAUTION: Avoid injury! Before you dismount to unplug or adjust mower:

· STOP the engine.

· LOCK the park brake.

· DISENGAGE PTO to stop mower blades.

· Remove key.

· Wait for mower blades to STOP.

· Keep hands, feet and clothing away from mower deck when engine is running.

· DISENGAGE PTO to stop mower blades when you are not using mower.

1. Lift the seat to the second position.

2. Remove the coupler (A) from the vehicle gearbox shaft: Pull the sleeve (B) forward to remove the coupler.

3. Turn the crank clockwise to raise the mower to its highest position.

4. Lower the rear mower wheel to the last position.

5. Turn the crank counterclockwise to lower the mower until the rear mower wheel contacts the ground.

6. Remove the ring (C) and the drilled pin (D) from the rear of the mower on each side.

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Do not rotate the link (E) when you remove bracket (A), or you may change the mower level.

7. Pull the bracket (F) on each side off the push arm shaft (G). Lay each bracket off to the side as shown.

8. Pull out the spring pins (H) and (I) which fasten the lift frame to the push arms, as follows:

· Turn the crank counterclockwise to lower the deck and raise the front of the lift frame. This will help release the pressure on the rear spring pins (H).

· Pull the rear spring pin (H) oneach side until you can turn its
rod (J) into the slot as shown.

· Turn the crank clockwise and lower the mower frame to release pressure on the front spring pins (I).

· Pull the front spring pin (I) oneach side until you can turn its
rod (K) into the slot as shown.

9. Lift the right push arm (L) out of the lift frame.

10. Pull the mower away from the Front Mower. You may have to lift the driveline over the transaxle as you pull the mower.

11. For storage:

· Fasten the rear brackets, drilled pins, and rings on the mower.

· Release the four spring pins from the latched position.

12. Lower the seat.

Storing The Mower

1. Remove the belt shields. Clean the top and the underside of the mower.

2. Check the blades. If necessary, remove, sharpen, and balance the blades.

3. Replace badly worn or damaged parts: blades, belt, etc.

4. Apply paint to areas that need it to prevent rust.

5. Lubricate the grease points.

6. Use a spring puller to remove the end of the belt tension spring from its bracket.

7. Install the belt shields.
