Adjusting Lift Height
1. Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the Safety section.)

2. To increase lift height: Loosen jam nut (C) and turn yoke (D) clockwise. Tighten nut.
3. To decrease lift height: Loosen jam nut (C) and turn yoke (D) counterclockwise. Tighten nut.
4. Lift snowthrower to check adjustment and make further adjustments, if necessary.
Adjusting Lift Pedal Spring Tension

• Be sure lift spring adjustment bar (A) is set to 42 snowthrower setting (B). Adjust tension, by rotating adjusting bolt (C) (in left front frame tunnel) clockwise to increase tension, and counterclockwise to decrease tension.
Leveling Snowthrower
1. Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the Safety section.)
2. Snowthrower must be level side-to-side in raised position.
3. Measure distance from each end of scraper blade to floor. Each end should be approximately 10cm (4 in.) from floor when snowthrower is fully raised.

4. Adjust yokes (A) on snowthrower frame, if necessary:

a. Loosen jam nut (B) on yoke (C) on low side of snowthrower.
b. Adjust yoke until snowthrower is level.
c. Tighten jam nut.
Turning Discharge Chute
c CAUTION: Avoid injury! Never direct discharge at bystanders or allow anyone in front of the unit. Change the discharge direction to avoid bystanders, buildings, and automobiles.

• Turn handle (A) counter-clockwise to rotate chute to the right.
• Turn handle (A) clockwise to rotate chute to the left.
Adjusting Spout
c CAUTION: Avoid injury! Before you adjust spout:
• Stop the attachment.
• Stop the engine.
• Lower attachment to the ground.
• Lock the park brake.
• Wait for all moving parts to stop.

NOTE: Spout (A) must be tight enough to stay in position when snow from auger hits it, but also loose enough to move with controls.

1. Pull handle (B) to move spout down.
2. Push handle (B) to move spout up.
Adjusting Skid Shoes
NOTE: Before using snowthrower on gravel or uneven surfaces, lower skid shoes fully. Both skid shoes must be in the same position.
1. Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the Safety section.)

2. Loosen bolts (A) on each skid shoe.
3. To clear snow from a flat surface, lower skid shoes so that scraper blade is 2 - 3 mm (1/16 - 1/8 in.) above surface.
4. To clear snow from a rough or a gravel surface, raise skid shoes so that scraper blade has maximum clearance.
5. Tighten bolts.
Raising and Lowering Snowthrower

• To raise snowthrower: Push foot pedal (A) all the way down (towards front of machine), and pull up on lock lever (B) to lock into raised position.
• To lower snowthrower: Push down slightly on foot pedal (A) and push down on lock lever (B) to unlock latch; release lift pedal to lower snowthrower to the ground.
Operating Snowthrower
Starting The Snowthrower
c CAUTION: Avoid injury! Engine exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide and can cause serious illness or death.
Move the machine to an outside area before running the engine.
Do not run an engine in an enclosed area without adequate ventilation.
• Connect a pipe extension to the engine exhaust pipe to direct the exhaust fumes out of the area.
• Allow fresh outside air into the work area to clear the exhaust fumes out.

1. Start engine.
2. Lower snowthrower to the ground.
3. Unlock park brake.
IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! To help prevent damage to PTO clutch:
• Do not engage PTO with throttle in the fast position.

4. Engage PTO.
NOTE: Operate snowthrower at full throttle for best performance.
5. Move throttle lever to full throttle position.
c CAUTION: Avoid injury! Do not operate machine at high speeds when operating the attachment.

6. Push down on forward foot control pedal to begin forward movement.
Stopping the Snowthrower
1. Slow the machine forward speed.
2. Move the throttle to slow speed.
3. Run the snowthrower for several minutes after throwing snow to prevent freeze-up of the auger and impeller.
4. Clean snow from the snowthrower before storing the machine.
Inspecting, Unplugging, or Parking Snowthrower Safely
1. Stop machine.
2. Lower snowthrower to the ground.
3. Disengage PTO.
4. Lock park brake.
5. Stop engine.
6. Remove key.
c CAUTION: Avoid injury! Rotating parts can catch fingers, loose clothing, or long hair. Wait for engine and all moving parts to stop before leaving operator’s station to adjust or service machine.

7. Wait for engine and all moving parts to stop before leaving operator’s seat.
Transporting
c CAUTION: Avoid injury! Use extra care when loading or unloading the machine into a trailer or truck.
Close fuel shut-off valve, if your machine is equipped.

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Always lower attachment to trailer deck when transporting.

1. Drive machine and snowthrower onto heavy-duty trailer equipped with lights and signage required by law.
2. Lower snowthrower to trailer deck.
3. Stop engine.
4. Lock park brake.
5. Fasten machine and snowthrower to deck with straps, chains, or cables.
