Servicing Your Machine
IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Operating in extreme conditions may require more frequent service intervals:
• Engine components may become dirty or plugged when operating in extreme heat, dust or other severe conditions.
• Engine oil can degrade if machine is operated constantly at slow or low engine speeds or for frequent short periods of time.

Please use the following timetables to perform routine maintenance on your machine.
Daily
• Check tire pressure.
• Check engine oil level.
• Check fuel level.
• Clean operator station and engine compartment and brake arm area where needed.
• Check coolant level.
• Clean front and side radiator screens.
• Check air restriction indicator.
• Check seat belt function.
Break In
After First 8 Hours:
• Check and tighten wheel bolts to correct torque.
• Check drive chain tension.
After First 50 Hours:
• Change engine oil and filter.
Every 50 Hours or Annually (whichever comes first)
• Lubricate drive chain.
• Check drive chain tension.
• Grease front spindles and transaxle couplers.
• Check transaxle oil level.
Every 200 Hours or Annually (whichever comes first)
• Check and tighten wheel bolts to correct torque.
• Change engine oil and filter.
• Change air cleaner filter(s).
• Change fuel filter.
• Check air cleaner dust unloading valve.
• Check drive belt condition and tension.
• Clean radiators.
• Check wear on drive clutch buttons.
• Clean primary drive clutch.
• Inspect / clean batteries.
• Check spark arrestor, if equipped.
• Check and tighten hardware.
Every 800 Hours or 24 Months (whichever comes first)
• Change transaxle oil. (See your John Deere dealer for this service.)
• Replace drive belt.
Every 1000 Hours
• Adjust engine valve clearance. (See your John Deere dealer for this service.)
Every 1000 Hours or 24 Months (whichever comes first)
• Change engine coolant.
