Using Troubleshooting Chart

If you are experiencing a problem that is not listed in this chart, see your authorized dealer for service.

When you have checked all the possible causes listed and you are still experiencing the problem, see your authorized dealer.

Troubleshooting

IF

CHECK

Auger Will Not Turn

Worn or broken drive belt.

Broken shear bolt.

Snowblower Operation Is Erratic

Damaged scraper blade.

Worn or broken drive belt.

Rear Traction Is Poor

Install weights and / or chains.

Snowblower Removes Snow Unevenly

Adjust lift assist spring.

Lift Lever Will Not Lock In Raised Position

Adjust yoke on lift lsystem.

Belt Wears Too Fast Or Breaks

Adjust belt guides.

Check idler alignment.

Not Enough Lift Height Or Not Low Enough

Adjust yokes on lift system.

Adjust lift assist spring.

Lift Effort Too High

Adjust lift assist spring.

Engine misses, stalls, emits black smoke, or loses power.

Check air cleaner to see if snow has plugged the filter and air box. If so, move the machine to a warm environment and let the snow melt. There is an optional Winter Grill Cover available for use when operating in certain cold weather conditions. Contact your John Deere servicing dealer for ordering information.
