Removing and Storing


Removing Snowblower

1. Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in Safety section.)

2. Disengage lift lock, and lower snowblower to the ground.

3. Tilt hood forward.

4. Remove M6 wingnut, M6.4 flat washer and M6 serrated lockwasher that secure M6x45 carriage bolt (A) under console. Lift chute and spout bracket (B) and carriage bolt from console, and install hardware back onto carriage bolt for storage.

NOTE: Chute and spout bracket, with chute rod and spout cable assembled, can be stored with snowblower without disconnection.

5. Pivot assembled chute rod, spout cable and bracket and lower to the ground. Do not disconnect any components from the bracket, or from the snowblower.

6. Lower hood.

7. Disconnect and remove lift rod:

• Remove locking cotter pin (C) and M10x30 OD washer (D) securing lift rod (E) at each side of the machine. Remove lift rod from lift arm and pivot assembly to disengage lift link (F) from front mounting plate (G).

8. Replace adjustable lift rod/link assemblies on the lift arms, and secure with hardware removed earlier for storage.

9. Remove primary drive belt (H) from machine drive sheave (I).

10. Remove spring locking pin (J) and drilled pin (K) at each hanger bracket, and rotate latch (L) to the rear to expose the hanger slot.

11. Pull the snowblower forward. The hanger brackets will disengage from the hanger bushings on the rear mounting plates, and the snowblower frame will drop to the ground.

12. Rotate the latch (L), at each side of the machine, forward to the closed position, and install the drilled pin (K) and spring locking pin (J), removed earlier, for storage.

13. With frame on the ground, disconnect PTO cable (machines with mechanical PTO only).

a. Remove cable spring (M) from slot (N) in primary (upper) tensioning arm opposite the tensioning spring.

b. Remove spring locking pin (O) that secures cable in bracket.

c. Remove PTO cable (P) from cable bracket (Q) at left side of drive system plate (R).

14. Slide snowblower from under machine for cleaning and storage.

c CAUTION: Avoid injury!

When the attachment is removed, also remove any ballast that was added to the machine.

Use only attachments and accessories recommended by the manufacturer.

15. Remove any weights that were installed when preparing machine.

Storing Attachment

NOTE: Some of the following steps may not apply to your attachment.

1. Remove attachment from machine.

2. Clean attachment and driveline, if equipped.

3. Remove any shields if needed to clean out all debris.

4. Repair or replace worn, bent, or damaged parts. Tighten loose hardware.

5. Apply paint to painted surfaces where needed to prevent rust.

6. Apply thin coat of grease to blades to prevent rust.

7. Lubricate any pivot points with engine oil to prevent rust.

8. Lubricate any grease points.

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Abrasive surfaces can damage attachment. Store attachment on non-abrasive surface or on wooden blocks.


9. If storing attachment outdoors, block up attachment if possible and place a waterproof cover over it.
