Operating
Daily Operating Checklist
• Remove belt shields and remove grass buildup.
• Grease caster wheel pivots.
• Grease caster wheel axles.
• Grease mower deck blade spindles.
• Grease PTO shaft spline.
• Adjust cutting height and gauge wheel, if necessary.
Adjusting Mower Deck Cutting Height (1,8m (72 Inch) and 2,23m (88 Inch))
1. Park machine safely with mower deck raised.
2. Disconnect the battery negative (–) cable.
DM0540
3. To obtain the desired cutting height identify the required adjustment holes (1-5) and amount of caster wheel spacers (A) to be installed on lower portion of wheel support.
DM0541
4. Remove locking pin (B) and hanger pin (C) from both deck adjustment brackets.
DM0542
5. Remove pin (D) and pull caster wheel from support.
6. Install correct amount of wheel spacers (A) onto yoke spindle (E). Leave washer (F) installed at top of support.
7. Install caster wheel to support and secure with pin (D).
8. Install hanger pins into correct holes in deck adjustment brackets. Secure with spring locking pins.
9. Connect the battery negative (–) cable.
10. Lower mower deck to cutting height.
Adjusting Mower Deck Cutting Height 1,8m (72 Inch) (SN 215001-)
1. Raise mower deck to highest position.
2. Stop machine on a level surface, not on a slope.
3. Lock the park brake.
4. Wait for engine and all moving parts to stop before you leave the operator’s seat.
DM2978
5. Choose the desired cutting height as indicated on the decal (A) on the left side of the mower deck and determine amount of wheel spacers to be installed on lower portion (B) of wheel yoke spindle.
DM2891
6. Remove spring locking pin (C).
7. Lower caster wheel (D) removing it from the deck.
8. Place determined amount of wheel spacers (E) onto spindle. Reinstall caster wheel onto deck and install remaining spacers onto the spindle. Reinstall spring locking pin.
9. Repeat procedure on other caster wheel.
DM2866
10. Determine corresponding holes in height brackets from decal. Lower mower deck and insert drilled pin (F). Secure with spring pin (G). Repeat on other side.
Adjusting Mower Deck Cutting Height 1,2m (47 Inch)
1. Park machine safely with mower deck raised (See Parking Safely in the Safety Section).
2. Set wing deck to same height as front deck by placing correct number of spacers to lower portion on yoke spindles.
Adjusting Level Front-to-Rear
1. Raise mower deck and lock lift arm service latches.
DM0125
2. Loosen lock nut (A) on rear hanger.
3. Remove retainer ring (B) on hanger pin (C).
4. Remove hanger pin (C) from adjustment plate (D).
5. To obtain a blade adjustment that is 6 mm (0.24 in.) higher at the rear, set hanger pin such that distance A:
• is 157 mm (6.18 in.) on mowers equipped with large wheels
• or 141 mm (5.55 in.) on mowers equipped with small wheels.
6. Insert hanger pin back into proper hole in adjustment plate (D), and secure with retainer ring.
7. Tighten lock nut.
8. Repeat adjustment procedure for rear hanger on other side of mower deck.
9. Unlock service latches
10. Lower mower deck and check front-to-rear level. The blade height should be 6 mm (0.24 in.) higher in the rear. Adjust if necessary.
Mower Level Check and Adjustment
1. Park machine safely (See Parking Safely in the Safety Section).
2. Disconnect the battery negative (–) cable.
3. Check tire pressures on all machine tires and mower caster wheels. Adjust pressures to specification.
4. Make sure caster wheels are set to the same height.
5. Make sure latch pins in mower adjustment brackets are installed in the same holes.
c CAUTION: Avoid injury! Blades are sharp. Always wear gloves when handling blades or working near blades.
|
6. Turn the outer blades until parallel to the front axle.
M40137
7. Measure height (A) from tip of outer blade to the ground using leveling gauge (AM130907). Repeat for outer blade on other side of mower.
8. Connect battery negative (–) cable before operating.
NOTE: The blade cutting heights should be equal. If not reduce air pressure slightly in caster wheel on higher side of mower.
Specifications:
Tire Pressures
Machine Front Tires 1.5 bar (21 psi)
Machine Rear Tires 0.9 bar (13 psi)
Mower Caster Wheels 1.52 bar (22 psi)
Engaging Mower
NOTE: Operate engine at full throttle while mowing.
1. Start engine and warm up.
2. Unlock park brake.
3. Set switch “lowering enabled” to Off position.
4. Set switch “blades” to On position.
5. Lower mower decks to ground.
6. Move throttle lever forward to full throttle position.
7. To disengage blades:
• Raise deck.
• Set switch “lowering enabled” to on position.
• Set switch “blades” to off position.
Using Discharge Shield
Opening Chute
1. Park machine safely (See Parking Safely in the Safety Section).
DM1145
2. Unlock latch (A) and lift chute (B).
DM1146
3. Rotate chute as shown and secure with latch (C) as shown.
Closing Discharge Chute
Closing Chute is the opposite of opening.
Adjusting Mower Anti-Scalp Wheels (Optional Attachment)
NOTE: The flattest cut can be achieved by having all anti-scalp wheels adjusted off the ground. Check anti-scalp wheel adjustments each time the mower cutting height is changed.
It is recommended that all anti-scalp wheels be kept off the ground to minimize scuffing.
1. Inflate tires to correct pressure.
2. Adjust mower to desired cutting height.
DM2299
3. Adjust anti-scalp wheel (A) to one of three positions (D).
• Remove screw (E), nut (C) and washer (B).
• Adjust wheel up or down so it is approximately 6-13 mm (1/4-1/2 in.) above mowing surface.
4. Install wheel with hardware.
5. Adjust all wheels to the same height.
