Installing


Attaching Backhoe To Tractor

c CAUTION: Avoid injury! Operator must be seated in tractor seat when positioning tractor for backhoe installation.

1. Jack tractor up until approximately 20 cm (8 in.) from backhoe.

2. Park tractor safely on a flat level surface. Tractor should not be running.

3. Route backhoe hydraulic hoses (A) through hose guide (B) and connect to quick couplers (C) on tractor.

4. Remove backhoe boom lock pin (D), if installed.

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Be careful not to disconnect or damage hydraulic hoses when moving tractor.

5. Back tractor closer to backhoe, so notches (E) are above mounting hooks.

6. While standing at location (F) (between backhoe stabilizer and boom) use backhoe control levers to align backhoe frame with backhoe mounts on tractor:

IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Check to be sure all hydraulic hoses are routed away from pinch points before installing backhoe to tractor.


a. Set parking brake.

b. Tractor should be running at slow idle.

c. Use stabilizer control levers to raise or lower stabilizers as needed to position notches (E) in backhoe frame above mount hooks.

d. Reposition tractor hooks under notches.

e. Use stabilizer control levers to lower stabilizers until notches rest in hooks and the backhoe is a few inches off the ground.

7. Use boom control lever to rotate backhoe to align holes, install pins (G) in mounting holes, and insert lock pins in holes in pin:

Use lower mounting holes (H) when installing on 2210 and 2305 tractors.

Use upper mounting holes (I) when installing on 1023E and 1026R tractors.

8. Remove backhoe swing lock pin (J).

9. From the operator's seat in backhoe, bleed the system by doing the following:

a. Run engine at low idle.

b. Check to be sure operating area is clear.

c. Raise and lower stabilizers.

d. Raise and lower boom.

e. Extend and retract dipperstick.

f. Curl and dump bucket.

g. Swing boom from side to side.

10. Park tractor safely.
