Avoid injury. Disks are sharp. Wear protective gloves and
handle disks carefully.
NOTE: Left-hand disk is attached with a left-hand threaded nut.
Remove the nut (A).
-
Remove the spring washer (B) and disk.
-
Remove the slinger (C) and shims (D).
-
Remove the cap screws (F and G). Remove flangettes (E).
-
Remove the bearings (H) and hub bolts (I). Check the seal (K)
around the bearing for damage and replace if necessary. Discard the
bearings.
-
Coat the seed boot bearing recesses and flangette recess with
lithium-based grease.
-
IMPORTANT: Bearing flangettes must be oriented with the flat
trimmed end facing pinch point (J).
Place the new bearings (H) on hub bolts (I). Place the seals
on bearings and place flangettes (E) over seals.
-
Insert a cap screw (F) in the top hole, through flangettes (E),
and seed boot. Install a lock nut (M) and tighten.
-
Insert a cap screw (G) in the bottom hole, through flangettes
(E), and seed boot. Install a lock nut (M) and tighten.
-
NOTE: New disks can require two or three shims while worn disks
can require fewer.
Position the shims (D) on each hub bolt (I) as required. Position
the slinger (C) with the flange facing seed boot and install disks.

Install nut (A). Tighten to specification.
Item | Measurement | Specification |
Nut (A) | Torque (dry) | 100 N·m˙ (75 lb·ft) |
-
IMPORTANT: The disks must turn freely and be properly adjusted.
Add or remove shims (D) as necessary to achieve the proper pinch
point (J).
-
With the inside scrapers disengaged, the disks slightly touch
at pinch point (J).
-
Pinch point contact is approximately 44.5 mm (1-3/4 in) above
a flat level surface.
-
With the disks rotating, pinch point (J) has a maximum gap of
3 mm (1/8 in).
