The cell wheel (7) seed meter is chain-driven from the drive wheel on the drill. The correct seed rate is obtained through proper seed meter setup in relation to the distance covered. As the cell wheel rotates, it picks up seed from the hopper (4) and drops it into the air stream. The air stream from the blower (5) transports the seed through the diffuser tube (3), the distributor (1), the delivery hoses (2), and then to the openers.

The system can be used to sow seeds of grain sizes between 1 and 10 mm. The system does not singulate seeds.
