Emptying the Seed Hopper and Metering Device

ZX013879-UN-02DEC97
A - Trapdoor
B - Rotary Slide Valve
CAUTION: Make sure that the tractor is standing on firm, level
ground. Then lower the drill. Secure the tractor so that it cannot
roll either forwards or backwards. Turn off the tractor engine and
blower.
After sowing, the seed hopper and metering device must be emptied.
If the hopper is nearly empty, place a container underneath
the hopper and open the trapdoor (A).
If there is still a relatively large quantity of seed left in
the hopper, this can be discharged in small portions at a time via
the rotary slide valve (B) in the hopper's trapdoor.
Turn the calibrating handle one full revolution in order to
remove the last of the seed. It may be necessary to use a brush to
remove contaminants and deposits. Leave the metering device open —
this prevents rodents from causing damage.
