Operation Guidelines

• Use recommended size tractor. (See Specifications section).
• Verify that tractor and machine have been properly prepared. (See Prepare the Tractor and Prepare the Machine sections).
• Verify that hydraulic hoses are correctly connected to tractor. Verify that hydraulic motor case drain hose is connected to low pressure (under 172 kPa [1.72 bar] [25 psi]) return port and not crimped.
• Customize meter wheels to agree with product.
• Properly set meters for product being used. Use clean seed for best metering. Use of lid screens is recommended.
• Allow tractor hydraulic oil to warm up thoroughly before seeding. Cold oil causes slower blower speeds.
• Check seed rates carefully. Perform rate check and adjust transmission output speed accordingly.
• Set blower at recommended speed. Excessive speed causes increased wear on air system and damaged seed.
• Always shut off blower motor by placing SCV in float position.
• Run blower at recommended rpm for 10 minutes, with machine stationary, any time machine has been standing for over an hour in high humidity or after sitting overnight.
• Empty remaining product from tank and clean product residue from meter segment flutes after each day of operation. Clean more frequently when product contains a high level of debris (rocks, twigs, sticks, straw, and so on). Open tank lids and remove any obstructions from meter inlet openings.
