Drive Shear Protection

IMPORTANT: Do not use any other hardware to replace factory specified shear pin or transmission could be damaged. See your John Deere dealer for correct repair parts.

NOTE: Shear protection value is maximized when shear plates are in contact and shafts are aligned.

B - Pin Storage Position

3.2 mm diameter cotter shear pin (A) is used to protect drive transmission from damage caused by loading meter with product when blower is not running. To prevent shearing pin, engage meter only when blower is running to avoid overload.

Additional cotter shear pins can be obtained from storage position (B).
