Troubleshooting Blower Assembly

Blower motor leaks.

Case drain line crimped, not connected to low-pressure port, or connected to wrong port with high back pressure.

Repair blower motor.

To avoid future failures, be sure to connect drain line to low-pressure (sump) return on tractor.

Blower not turning.

Low hydraulic oil level.

Check and fill reservoir.

 

Pressurized return line.

Reverse hose connections to tractor.

 

Tractor control valve return line not open.

Cycle control lever in opposite direction momentarily.

Connect hoses so blower turns in proper direction when SCV lever is held in forward position.

 

Blower motor seal leaking.

Replace seal. See your John Deere™ dealer or qualified service provider.

 

Faulty blower motor.

Repair or replace motor. See your John Deere™ dealer or qualified service provider.

 

Optional blower/auger valve is switched to rear coupler attachment.

Change diverter valve position.

Blower vibrates.

Dirty blower blades.

Clean blower.

 

Broken blower blades; blower out of balance.

Replace blower assembly.

Premature blower motor seal failure.

Incorrect hydraulic hose connections.

Connect hoses to correct ports.

 

Shutting blowe off to neutral SCV position.

Shut blower off to float SCV position.

Plenum pressure too low.

Tractor flow SCV flow control set too low.

Increase SCV flow setting.

 

Tractor pressure too low.

Check and repair tractor hydraulic system. See your John Deere dealer.

 

More than one hydraulic coupler in line.

Use one coupler at tractor or full flow couplers.

 

Blower motor seal leaking.

Replace seal. See your John Deere™dealer or qualified service provider.

 

Pressure gauge vent plugged.

Clean vent.

 

Faulty blower motor.

Repair or replace motor. See your John Deere™ dealer or qualified service provider.

 

Manifold cleanout covers open.

Close manifold cleanout covers.

Plugged air hoses or venturis.

Blower not engaged when openers are lowered.

Engage blower before lowering openers.

 

blower turning backward.

Check valve removed from return line. Check and correct hose connections to tractor.

 

Foreign material in seed.

Clean seed or use lid screen.

 

Foreign material in manifold.

Blow material out through manifold cleanout covers on a regular interval.

 

Foreign material in venturi.

Pressure gauge does not zero.

Gauge not adjusted.
