Avoid excessive wheel wear. Do not overtighten the gauge wheels.

When assembled, the gauge wheels and the disk blades must be free to turn with minimal resistance.

To prevent the buildup of soil or residue between the gauge wheels and the opener blades, adjust the gauge wheels.

Rotate the gauge wheel. Verify that the wheel is slightly touching the disk or less than the maximum specification away from the blades at their closest approach.
