    Reasons for running this test:

  • Anytime work has been done on the hydraulic circuit
  • If valve is sticking
  • Display performance bars are red or maximum pressure is not being achieved

IMPORTANT: Before running the valve flush test, Individual Row Hydraulic Downforce (IRHD) circuit must be connected to the tractor power beyond. At least one SCV must be in continuous detent position in order to provide high pump pressure during the test.

  1. Use the following test to remove hydraulic contamination from the valve and actuator assembly.

Select Menu >> Planter button >> Diagnostics button >> Tests tab (A).

  2. Select IRHD Tests from the drop-down box (B).

  3. Select Valve Flush (C) from the drop-down list.

  4. Input selected row units for the valve flush test using the input boxes (D and E).

  5. To start the valve flush test, select the start/stop button (F).

NOTE: To stop valve flush test at any time, select button (F).

Test Complete appears on-screen when valve flush test is completed without failures.

If test fails, repeat the test up to three times.

If test failure or performance is still an issue, have a John Deere™ dealer remove and clean the valve cartridge with approved hydraulic parts cleaner.

If performance and test results do not improve after parts cleaning, have John Deere™ dealer replace valve cartridge assembly.
