Inspect and Clean Vacuum Impeller and Housing

A - Exhaust Hose

Avoid injury from impeller contact or discharged material. Do not operate blower with exhaust hose (A) removed.

IMPORTANT: Maintain proper vacuum operation and reduce the drift of discharged seed treatment dust. Do not operate blower with exhaust hoses removed.

  1. IMPORTANT: Follow chemical manufacturer’s precautions when handling parts coated with seed treatments. Use proper skin, eye, and respiratory protection.

    NOTE: Repeat any steps on opposite side of vacuum blower as needed.

    A - Hose Clamps (2 used per side)

    B - Rubber Sleeve (1 used per side)

    Loosen and retract hose clamps (A) and rubber sleeve (B) from vacuum blower.

    B - Flex Hoses

    Loosen and retract hose clamps (A) and flex hoses (B) from vacuum blower.

    A - Cap Screws (13 used)

    Remove cap screws (A).

    A - Impeller

    B - Housing

    Clean impeller and housing.



  5. Inspect impeller (A) for chips or cracks. Replace impeller if damage is found. See your John Deere™ dealer.

  6. Inspect vacuum blower housing (B) for signs of impeller contact. Replace vacuum blower housing and impeller if contact is evident. See your John Deere™ dealer.

    A - Cap Screws (13 used)

    Install cap screws (A).

    A - Rubber Sleeve (1 used per side)

    B - Hose Clamps (2 used per side)

    Install rubber sleeve (A) and hose clamps (B) onto vacuum blower. Tighten clamps.

    B - Hose Clamps

    Install flex hoses (A) and hose clamps (B) onto vacuum blower. Tighten clamps.
