A - Walking Gauge Wheel Attachment
The walking gauge-wheel attachment (A) is recommended for rocky conditions or in fields with rough surface conditions. In rough conditions, the walking gauge-wheel reduces the vertical movement of the opener when one gauge wheel rolls over a solid obstacle. Reduced opener movement increases the seed depth control.The walking action is reduced when planting deep or shallow.
The walking gauge-wheels are not recommended for light soils or highly tilled soil conditions. In those conditions, the gauge wheels can operate at different heights relative to each other resulting in inconsistent seed-depth and poor closing of the seed furrow.
