Clean Out the CCS™ Delivery Hoses

A - Blower Override Switch

Avoid injury from crushing. The service locks (B) must be installed and the following procedure must be followed as outlined.

NOTE: To shut off the blower at any time, press the blower override switch (A) down.

The blower override switch (A) allows the central commodity system (CCS™) blower to operate while the planter is raised and allows completion of the following procedure without numerous trips to the tractor cab. The following procedure must be completed in the order given to avoid possible injury or planter damage.

  1. Place the tractor in park and apply the parking brake.

  2. Raise the planter.

  3. Deactivate the vacuum system.

  4. Install the service locks (B).

  5. Verify that the frame control function is in Plant mode.

  6. Lower the planter onto the service locks and engage the SCV lever into the detent position.

    Chemicals can be harmful to your health or the environment. Follow the label instructions from the chemical manufacturer when working with treated seed.

    Remove the residual seed from the CCS™ tank. (See Clean Out the CCS™ Tanks in this section.)



  8. Verify that the tank lids and cleanout doors are closed.

    To shut off the blower at any time, press the blower override switch (A) down.

    To activate the CCS™ blower, press the blower override switch (A) up.



  10. Adjust the blower control knob (B) until the gauge indicates 24.

    Remove the cleanout tray (A) from the storage position.



  12. Install the cleanout tray on a row unit and slowly remove the seed disk or bowl until the seed is expelled from the meter, hopper, and delivery hose. (See Clean Out the Vacuum Meter for more information.)

  13. Install the seed disk or bowl, close the seed meter cover, and repeat the cleanout on each row.

  14. Return the cleanout tray to the storage position, reset the tank pressure, raise the planter, and remove the service locks.
