Tractor Hydraulic System Requirements

Operation of the hydraulically driven motors requires tractor to have either a load sensing hydraulic system or a closed center hydraulic system with flow control. These types of hydraulic systems usually have and do the following:

• Large oil reservoirs.
• Increased oil cooling capacity.
• Consistently deliver oil flow to maintain CCS blower speed at the selected RPMs without surging.

Tractors with open center hydraulic systems are not recommended for the following reasons:

• No means to control volume of oil flow.
• Excessive oil temperature.
• Decreased oil flow to blower motor during operation of other tractor control valves.
• Reduced oil flow to tractor power steering.

IMPORTANT: In addition to these requirements, tractor MUST be equipped with a low-pressure drain line connection for the blower motor case drain.

Sump pressure MUST be less than 172 kPa (1.72 bar) (25 psi), or blower motor damage occurs.
