Fill or Change the Hydraulic Air-Compressor Oil

Avoid injury. Deactivate the selective control valves (SCVs), turn off the tractor, and place the tractor in park before servicing.

IMPORTANT: Use non-detergent 30W synthetic air-compressor oil ISO 100 (John Deere™ TY27029 or equivalent).

NOTE: Park the machine and the tractor on a level surface.

To aid filling, use a funnel.


Change the Compressor Oil

  1. A87496

    A - Cap

    B - Reservoir

    C - Drain Hose

    D - Drain Valve

    E - Sight Glass

    To help vent the reservoir (B) while draining, remove the cap (A).


  2. Place a container under the drain hose (C).

  3. Open the drain valve (D) and collect the oil.

  4. Close the drain valve.

  5. Add specified quantity of oil to the reservoir (B) until the oil is visible in the middle of the sight glass (E).

  6. Reinstall the cap (A).


Fill the Compressor with Oil

  1. Remove the cap (A).

  2. Add oil to the reservoir (B) until the oil is visible in the middle of the sight glass (C).

  3. Reinstall the cap (A).
