Clean Vacuum System

Dirt or seed treatment builds up in the vacuum manifold system and causes low vacuum at planting units. Unclean vacuum manifold system results in loss of seed meter accuracy.

CAUTION: Follow chemical manufacturers label when handling parts coated with seed treatments. Use proper skin, eye, and respiratory protection.

Clean air system at least once a week during operation or more often in severe dusty conditions.

Clean as follows:

    B - End Caps

    Disconnect vacuum hose (A) at the meter not at the frame.

    Disconnect one vacuum hose (A) from a ExactEmerge™ or MaxEmerge™ 5e meter on the outer and inner ends of each wing.



  2. On the rear center section, disconnect one hose to the left and one hose to the right of center.

  3. Turn on the vacuum blower and set hydraulic flow to 75 percent.

  4. One at a time, remove vacuum hoses from the meters. Inspect and clean all straw and foreign material from both attaching hose ends. Shake hose for a few seconds and replace it on meter.

  5. End Caps

    One at a time, remove end caps (B) from frame section.

  6. Turn on the vacuum blower and set hydraulic flow to 75 percent. Run for 3—5 minutes.

  7. Shut off vacuum blowers.

  8. Install end cap.

  9. Repeat for remaining frame sections.
