Adjust the Meter Hub Height

A - Hub Handle
B - Housing
Improve meter accuracy and minimize seed damage with a properly
adjusted meter hub. Check this adjustment whenever a seed bowl is
changed. If there is a gap between the seed bowl and the meter housing
(B) or if the bowl is difficult to turn, adjust the meter hub as follows:
-
Open the meter.
-
Turn the hub handle (A) counterclockwise. Remove the seed bowl.
-

A - Spring Clip
B - Vacuum Meter Hub
Remove the spring clip (A).
-
Adjust the meter hub (B).
-
Make small adjustments.
-
Thread the meter hub (B) clockwise to move the seed bowl closer
to the meter housing.
-
Thread the meter hub (B) counterclockwise to move the seed bowl
away from the meter housing.
-
Align the slot in the hub with the hole in the shaft and install
the spring clip (A).

Storage
A - Seed bowl
B - Hub Handle
C - Area
Install the seed bowl (A) and lock the hub handle (B).
-
Inspect the adjustment.
-
Release and lean the meter assembly away from the motor drive.
Rotate the hub handle clockwise. If the hub handle clicks out of the
detent in the forward clockwise direction while attempting to rotate,
the hub is too tight. Loosen 1-2 holes on the spindle.
-
Repeat the hub adjustment until it is correct.
-
IMPORTANT: Avoid warped bowls. Do not store the bowls in the
meters. Do not store the bowls under heavy items or hang them from
the seed cell. Store them away from high heat and sunlight.
Release and lean the meter assembly away from the motor drive.
Rotate the seed bowl slowly by hand and observe the bowl contact with
the housing in area (C). While rotating, inspect for a gap large enough
for a seed to wedge between the seed bowl and the housing. If a gap
is apparent then seed bowl replacement is recommended.
