A - Pressure Gauge

B - Adjustment Knob

C - Valve Block

D - Power Switch

The power switch must be ON for the frame weight distribution system to engage automatically in response to frame position.

NOTE: The location of the power switch (D) is on the left-hand side next to CCS™ tank support.

NOTE: Establish the final frame weight distribution pressure when the product tanks are approximately 50%-75% full.

NOTE: On ground driven planters, ensure that the drives do not have excessive wheel slip when the product levels are low and the distribution system is turned On.

Frame weight distribution engages automatically when the planter is unfolded completely.

Frame Weight Distribution system can be turned off at any time by turning off the Power Switch (D).

When frame weight distribution is being used, the effective range is 4 826—16 203 kPa (48—162 bar) (700—2350 psi).

  1. Unfold and lower the planter in the field.

  2. To set the operational pressure on pressure gauge (A), use the adjustment knob (B) on the valve block (C).

  3. Start in pressure range of 6 895—7 584 kPa (69—76 bar) (1000—1100 psi) for the distribution system then adjust pressure accordingly.

  4. Pull the planter a short distance, verify that the wing wheels press into the soil the same depth as the center frame wheels. Adjust the pressure and verify as needed.

  5. Operate the planter under the normal planting procedures until the product tanks are half full.

  6. Once the CCS™ tanks are half full, verify that the wing wheels press into the soil the same depth as the center frame wheels. Adjust the pressure and verify as needed. This number is the final target pressure for the current soil conditions.

  7. Use the following guidelines with the distribution system:

    • If wing wheels are sinking too deep, reduce the distribution pressure.
    • If wing wheels are losing ground contact, increase the distribution pressure or reduce row unit down force.
    • Increase pressure setting as needed for extra center frame weight transfer to the wings.
    • If wing wheels sink too deep with the system pressure at minimum, turn off the power switch (D).
    • If the gauge wheels are sinking too deep, lower the down force on the row unit and adjust the wing and frame wheel positions to maintain frame height to specification.
