Unfold Machine

CAUTION: Verify that everyone is clear of the machine.

Serious injury or death can result from contact with electric lines. Use care when moving or operating this machine near electric lines to avoid contact.

Use firm, level ground when possible to make unfolding easier. Tractor must be in “Neutral” to allow the tractor to roll slightly when unfolding.

1. If machine was stored for a time, raise up machine off service locks.

   Remove service locks (A) from both outer main frame wheel cylinders.

   Place service locks (A) in their storage position. Main frame locks are stored on the CCS ladder frame rails.

   Press the Plant—Trans switch to “Trans” position.

5. Place tractor transmission in “Neutral”.

6. IMPORTANT: Avoid damage to machine. Do not fully lower hitch while unfolding.

   Hitch must be level to prevent damage while wing-wheels are being lowered.

   Two-Point Hitch: Raise tractor rockshaft until hitch is level (half-raised position).

   Drawbar Hitch: With Marker—Hitch switch in “Hitch” position on drawbar hitch control console, activate marker SCV to raise hitch until level (half-raised position).

7. Press and hold Wing Wheel—Fold switch in the “Wing Wheels” position. Activate SCV to lower wing wheels. (Center frame wheels lower from high lift position.)

8. IMPORTANT: Avoid machine damage. Adjust hitch height to minimize distance between latch hooks (A) and hitch tube (B).

   Lower hitch until latches (A) clear hitch tube (B).

9. IMPORTANT: Avoid damage to fertilizer openers. Minimize distance between latch hooks (A) and hitch tube (B).

   Press and hold the Wing Wheel—Fold switch in the “Fold” position. Activate SCV lever to unfold machine.

10. Press the Plant—Trans switch to “Plant”.

11. IMPORTANT: Avoid machine damage. Adjust hitch so frame or openers do not contact anything during unfolding.

    Lower frame and hitch simultaneously, keeping hitch level until machine is lowered.

12. Select “Auto” or “Man” on the Marker Mode switch.

13. NOTE: If equipped with Frame Weight Distribution option, the planter wings may move slightly when planter is fully unfolded and Power Switch is turned On.

    To insure frame weight distribution is operational on 24-Row machines, check gauge for appropriate pressure.
