Raise and Lower Machine

IMPORTANT: Case drain hose must be connected or damage occurs to the planter.

IMPORTANT: Avoid planter damage. Do not place the SCV in “Float” position to lower the planter. The planter must be powered up and down.

Move the selective control valve (SCV) I rearward to extend the lift cylinders and raise the planter. Move the SCV I forward to retract the lift cylinders and lower the planter.

After raising or lowering the planter, hold the SCV for approximately 5 seconds to verify that the planter raises and lowers completely.

To avoid plugging the seed and fertilizer openers, verify that the planter is moving forward when raising or lowering in the unfolded position.

SCV I must be in continuous forward detent position when lowering the planter into planting position. The CCS™ blower operates only when SCV I, is in the forward detent.

NOTE: To improve the raise/lower cycle time, set the raise detent time to 3 or 4 seconds to raise the planter approximately 50-60% height on the end turns. The lower detent must be set to continuous in order to supply oil to the CCS™ and down force compressor circuit while planting.

NOTE: See the Tractor Operator's Manual for instructions for setting independent SCV extend and retract detent settings.

When the planter is raised in the unfolded position, do not leave the SCV in the raise detent (continuous flow) for an extended period. Normal leakage in the planter hydraulic system allow the center frame to raise beyond the normal field transport height.
