Update Display Software
Determine Software Versions on Display
Version numbers for all installed software packages are available
in the Version Information tab in the Software Manager application.
USB Requirements
The following requirements are necessary to download the software
onto the USB:

Minimum size of 8 GB

FAT32 formatted
-
Format USB to remove any extra software that comes pre-installed

Once a USB drive has the latest software, take it to the tractor
to install the update.
Install Software Updates

Insert the USB drive in to the upper USB port next to the accessory
outlet.

A - Install Software Button
When the "USB Drive Options" page is displayed, select the
Install Software button (A), which displays the Installations &
Updates tab of the Software Manager.

Only the software packages that are newer than what is installed
are displayed. All packages are selected by default.

Select the Install button. If an update does not start, follow
the on-screen messages to resolve conflicts.
During the software installation: All applications
are shut down.
No system messages are displayed.
To prevent injury, verify that the machine is in Park and maintain
electrical power throughout the installation process.
Do not remove the USB drive.

A - Progress Indicator
B - Install Successful
A progress indicator (A) displays the percentage of each
package that is being installed. A green check mark (B) is displayed
when a package installs successfully.

A message displays when the software update is finished. Some
software packages require a reboot to finish the installation. Select
the Reboot button to restart the display.

Remove the USB drive and take it back to the computer. Run the
Software Manager Utility to upload the return files.
The return files contain software version information
and are used to assist dealers with supporting the display and the
machine.
Online Updates

On the Installation and Updates tab, select the Check for Updates
Online. The display searches for available updates.

Only the software packages that are newer than what is installed
are displayed. All packages are selected by default.

Select the Download button. If an update does not start, follow
the on-screen messages to resolve conflicts.

that is being downloaded. A green check mark (B) is displayed when
a package downloads successfully.

Select the Install button to begin installation of the downloaded
software packages.
During software installation: All applications

Troubleshooting
When a software package fails to install, the system rolls back
all the software to the version before the update started.
Record error message if the software update fails. Remove the
files from the USB drive and reload the software update to the USB
drive. Repeat the software installation process.
If a software update continues to fail, contact a John Deere
dealer.
