Number the meter cartridge segments and corresponding product runs from left-to-right. The same numbering process can be applied to the seeding tools primary air lines and secondary headers.

On an 8-run single shoot system, all available meter segments and product runs are active and are numbered left-to-right 1—8.

A double shoot system can be numbered left-to-right 1—8 for the top runs and left-to-right 9—16 for the bottom runs.

Systems using less than the full number of available runs are also numbered from left-to-right, counting only the active product carrying runs.
