Opener Downforce System

Downforce system does not function.

Hydraulic lock-up valve closed.

Open hydraulic lock-up valve.

Pressure gauge near zero when openers are lowered and selective control valve (SCV) lever is held forward for a few seconds.

Hose routing between the pressure control valve and cylinders incorrect.

Correct hose routings.

Pressure gauge shows pressure as openers are raised.

Openers rise when SCV lever is held forward, and lower when held rearward.

Hydraulic hoses are connected to tractor incorrectly.

Reverse hoses in SCV coupler.

Pressure gauge shows zero when openers are down.

Valve is in float or neutral position.

Move SCV control forward into lower detent. Set time detent to continuous on tractors with electrohydraulic SCV controls.

Openers do not float over undulating ground.

SCV lever is not in the forward position.

Move SCV control forward into lower detent. Set time detent to continuous on tractors with electrohydraulic SCV controls.

No reading on the gauge.

Using an open center tractor.
