Prepare for Transport
Keep away from overhead power lines. Serious injury
or death may result. Proceed cautiously under overhead power lines
and around utility poles. Know the transport height of your machine. Electrocution can occur without direct contact with overhead
electrical lines.
Always fold wings fully. If wing fold cylinders are removed,
chain wings together to prevent accidental lowering.
Fully raise machine and openers. Close hydraulic lock-up valve
before transporting.
If equipped, install transport locks on transport wheel cylinders
and close hydraulic lock-up valve.
Never tow this implement with a motor vehicle. Tow only with
a properly ballasted tractor.
Latch the tractor brake pedals together.
Transport
Always travel at a reasonable and safe speed. Refer to Specifications
in tractor operator's manual and Tow Loads Safely in this section
to ensure that machine is safe to transport with your tractor. Do
not exceed weight and speed guidelines.
Always use the flashing warning lights, day and night, when
transporting on public roadway. Keep reflective material and SMV emblem
clean and visible.
Prevent collisions between motorist and slow moving equipment
on public roads. Frequently check for traffic from the rear, especially
in turns, and use the turn signals.
The construction of this implement may not meet all local or
national requirements for transport on a public roadway. In regions
or countries that have national certification requirements for roadway
transport, it may be impossible for this implement to be approved
for such roadway transport. The customer is responsible for understanding
and complying with all local, regional, and national requirements
regarding roadway transport.
Stop slowly.
To improve stability when traveling through the field, unfold
wings from transport position, as soon as possible, after leaving
the roadway.
Shift the tractor into a lower gear when transporting down steep
slopes or hills.
Upward force on hitch may cause instability when transporting.
Add ballast to tractor as required.
Commodity Cart Transport
Never transport with product tanks more than half full.
Never transport machine with blower running.
Never transport with cart meter drive clutches engaged.
Never transport with cart fill lights illuminated.
Always lock auger in storage position. Keep hands and fingers
away from hinge area when positioning auger on cart.
