Repair Closing Wheel Assembly SFP—1895 Only

  1. Avoid pinching injuries. Use extreme caution while servicing the SFP closing wheel assembly.

    Follow Steps 1—6 for closing wheel repair.

    Clean dirt from the parts before removal.

    N - Lock Nut

    Remove bearing cap (G), lock nut (A) and snap ring (H) to remove wheel (L), and bearing (I) from arm (M).



  2. Shim washers (K) are used for lateral repositioning of closing wheel. (See Position Closing Wheels in Preparing the Machine section for further information.)

    Remove bearing (I) from arm.

  3. Inspect all parts for wear or damage and replace as necessary.

  4. Press new bearing into bore.

  5. Install wheel and shim washers (as required) to the cap screw and retain with a lock nut.

  6. Install bearing cap.

  7. Follow Steps 7—11 for arm bushing replacement.

    Remove cap screw (E), lock nut (N), and arm parts.

  8. Remove bushing (D) from bore.

  9. Press new bushing into bore, flush to 0.76 mm (0.03 in) below the outside surface.

  10. Install previously removed arm and attaching parts. Tighten hardware to specification.

  11. Grease all grease fittings.
