High Population Limit
NOTE:
If the planter harness is not connected to the monitor, the monitor will not allow HI WARN, LO WARN or ROW SPACING to be programmed.
1.
If the constant information has not been programmed, or, with the monitor harness connected to the planter harness, if the SETUP SELECT switch (A) has been touched, the display will show HI WARN.
2.
To change the number displayed, touch the DIGIT SELECT switch (B) until the triangle is below the number to be changed.
3.
Touch 0-9 switch (C) until desired number is displayed.
NOTE:
The high warning limit example is 10 percent more than the desired planting rate of 30,000 seeds per acre used in this example. This limit is a variable decided by the user. It should be kept in mind that setting too close a limit will sound the HI WARN alarm more often.
When planting volume-metered or small seeds, the pounds per acre will have to be converted to seeds per acre. Refer to the planting rate charts and information under charts in the planter operator's manual for average number of seeds per pound. Take the average seeds per pound and multiply by pounds per acre. This will give a very rough average seed/acre population.
Add 50 percent of this for a starting HI WARN limit. After the actual planting population range is displayed, the HI WARN limit may be changed to a closer tolerance.
The number shown, 033.0, is an example. This means that when any row exceeds 33,000 seeds per acre, the alarm will sound, the display will show HI WARN, and the display will lock into that row. The alarm will sound every 1/200th of an acre as long as the planting rate is being exceeded.
