Storing Dry Fertilizer

Keep fertilizer dry. Do not store in a damp place.

Most fertilizers readily accumulate moisture and cause metal to corrode. This corrosion not only shortens metal life, but leads to unnecessary expense for parts broken because of binding or "freezing". Deposits of fertilizer will build up in the hopper and interfere with working parts. Therefore, the hoppers should be cleaned every day of use.

To operate the auger fill attachment, proceed as follows:

Turn off tractor.

Be certain shut-off valve (A) is in the open position as shown.

Start tractor and set speed indicator at 1200 rpm. Operate auger fill attachment with remote cylinder operating lever.

causym CAUTION: When using auger fill attachment:

1. Keep all shields in place.
2. Disengage and shut off all engine and/or motor power before servicing or unclogging machine.
3. Keep hands, feet and clothing away from power-driven parts.

IMPORTANT: Do not leave tractor engine running and attempt to start auger attachment with the shut-off valve. This could result in breaking the shear bolt which attaches the auger to the hydraulic motor. The valve is designed for emergency shutoff only.
