A marker alternating valve (A), located inside the planter hitch, automatically shifts oil flow (so the opposite marker can be lowered) each time the lever is moved from the marker-lower to the marker-raise position (even when the lever is moved only briefly). In this way the following additional marker functions are possible:
1.
One marker can be raised partially (to clear an obstacle) then lowered again by cycling the lever twice, quickly (without actually moving the markers), until the marker function returns to the same marker.
2.
Both markers can be lowered (as when starting in the middle of field) by lowering one marker, then quickly cycling the lever (without raising that marker) so the second marker will lower.
