Raising and Lowering Markers

IMPORTANT: DO NOT put SCV lever into FLOAT when raising and lowering the planter. The correct procedure for raising and lowering the planter is to POWER completely UP or DOWN.

The markers will raise and lower alternately each time the planter is raised and lowered.

This procedure will allow the opposite marker to lower. Both markers will raise when the planter is raised.

Depending upon how the hoses are attached to the tractor outlets, when the marker remote cylinder operating lever (A) is moved in one direction, the marker will raise. When it is moved in the opposite direction, the opposite marker will lower. The markers will operate alternately each time the lever is cycled fully to both raise and lower the marker.

A marker alternating valve (A), located inside the planter hitch, automatically shifts oil flow (so the opposite marker can be lowered) each time the lever is moved from the marker-lower to the marker-raise position (even when the lever is moved only briefly). In this way the following additional marker functions are possible:

1. One marker can be raised partially (to clear an obstacle) then lowered again by cycling the lever twice, quickly (without actually moving the markers), until the marker function returns to the same marker.

2. Both markers can be lowered (as when starting in the middle of field) by lowering one marker, then quickly cycling the lever (without raising that marker) so the second marker will lower.
