Changing Row Widths (4-Row and 6-Row Narrow)

Your planter is available in the following row widths:

4-Row - 51 cm (20 in.), 76 cm (30 in.), 91 cm (36 in.) and 97 cm (38 in.) row widths.

6-Row Narrow - 70 cm (27.5 in.) row width. (1750 Conservation) 76 cm (30 in.) row width.

To change row widths on 4-row, 91 cm (36 in.) and 97 cm (38 in.) planters, proceed as follows:

Empty hoppers and lower the planter until the double-disk seed openers rest on the ground.

Remove cotter pins (A). Remove drill shafts (B) from planting units.

Loosen U-bolts (A) on all planting units.

Measuring from the planter center line to the center of planting units, position inside planting units one-half the desired row spacing (B).

Position outside planting units at the desired row spacing (C).

Check to be sure U-bolts (D) are vertically straight. Tighten U-bolts uniformly to 204 N·m (150 lb-ft) of torque.

Insert drill shaft (A) through planting unit bearings and attach to driver and coupler by replacing cotter pin (B).

NOTE: If drill shaft does not align properly with transmission shaft, loosen planting unit bearings, re-align shaft, and tighten bearings.

Check all drive components for interference. Check planting unit openers to insure seed tubes and openers are free of dirt or other foreign objects.
