Marker Rate of Drop (1750 Standard)

The rate at which the oil raises and lowers the marker arms is controlled by the marker control valve (A) located in the center of the planter.

Raising speed of the hydraulic marker is controlled by orifice size and is not adjustable. However, the rate of drop is controlled by spring pressure in the marker control valve.

causym CAUTION: To avoid injury from escaping hydraulic oil under pressure, turn engine off and relieve the pressure in the system by moving remote cylinder operating levers in both directions before attaching hoses to breakaway couplers.

Hydraulic hoses can fail due to physical damage, kinks, age and exposure. Check hoses regularly. Replace damaged hoses.

To adjust marker rate of drop, lower planter and marker to the ground and relieve hydraulic pressure from system. Remove hose from front end of valve and turn spring retainer clockwise as far as possible. This will give you the slowest rate of drop.

To obtain a faster rate of drop, back spring retainer out at 1/2 turn increments until desired rate of drop is achieved.

IMPORTANT; If raising speed is too rapid (two seconds or less), check for foreign material under the valve seat.
