Hookup for VacuMeter

causym CAUTION: Hydraulic hoses can fail due to physical damage, kinks, age and exposure. Check hoses regularly. Replace damaged hoses.

IMPORTANT: Damage to blower motor may occur if hoses are assembled incorrectly. Check hydraulic connections before operating vacuum motor.

When connecting a vacuum metering system to Advantage Series Tractors, it is important to remember that these tractors have open center hydraulic systems with load sensing. In order to prevent excessive buildup of heat during operation, the following steps must be taken.

1. The vacuum system must be connected to a deluxe 301 Series valve on the tractor.

2. The planter control valve must be set wide open and must never be allowed to control the blower speed. The tractor SCV control valve must always be used to control the blower.

Insert flow control valve (A) into top left-hand side of SCV as illustrated. Insert return hose (B) into lower left-hand of SCV as illustrated.

To operate the system, set SCV control to motor position (continuous detent). Tractor SCV control valve will be used to control vacuum level.

SCV lever should be in "retract" for running and "float" for off. The motor has an over-running check valve to protect seals if accidentally put in neutral.
