Installing Marker Actuator and Cables (1750 Standard)

A31974

A-Rod Clevis
B-Actuator

C-Hydraulic Hose

D-Cylinder Mounting Pins

E-Cylinder Mounting Pins

1. Install left-hand marker cable (long cable) on spring rod clevis (A) with drilled pin and cotter pin.

2. Insert cable tghrough left-hand hole in actuator (B). Replace eyebolt nut.

3. Install hydraulic hose (C).

NOTE: Whether the right-hand or left-hand marker cable will have to be connected first depends on which way the cylinder is indexed inside the actuator.

If actuator cylinder is indexed with cylinder mounting pins positioned at (D), the right-hand (short) marker cable must be connected first.

If cylinder mounting pins are at (E), the left-hand (long) marker cable must be connected first.

Check spring rod clevis pin (E). If head of pin has abrasions, marker cable interference is indicated. To provide clearance, install flat washer at (B).

5. Slide actuator into planter frame. Be certain hydraulic hose is not pinched. Attach hose to fitting (A).

6. Attach actuator to frame tube with 3/8 x 1 in cap screws (B) and lock washers.

7. Guide short marker cable through square hole in support plate and swing marker closed. Attach with shear bolt (C) and locking nut or cotter pin.

8. Attach marker cable with drilled pin (D) and locking nut or cotter pin.

causym CAUTION: When raising marker, cylinder will change position inside the actuator. Keep hands out of actuator when it is mounted inside the frame.

9. (Not Illustrated) Raise the right-hand marker with tractor hydraulic cylinder operating lever.

10. Lock the cylinder operating lever in float position (see your tractor operator's manual). Pull left hand marker cable through tube as far as possible.

NOTE: In the illustration, wire (A) has been tied to the marker cable. This makes it easier to pull the cable through the frame after it has been attached to the marker on the opposite side.

11. Guide short marker cable through square hole in support plate. Swing marker closed and attach with 5/16 x 2-1/2 in. shear bolt (SAE 2) (A) and locking nut.

12. Attach marker cable with drilled pin (B) and cotter pin.
