Checking Dry Fertilizer Rates

To check the exact number of lb. of fertilizer that will actually be delivered for 30 in. row spacing, proceed as follows:
Remove one hose from either fertilizer hopper and attach a plastic bag, or other suitable container, under the opening in the hopper. Engage the fertilizer attachment and drive forward for 174 ft. Weight the amount of fertilizer caught in the container (in lb.) and multiply that amount by 100. The result will be in the lb. of fertilizer delivered per acre when planting 30 in. rows.
