Checking Valves
Foreign material can work its way into the valves and cause them to stick open or closed. To check the valves, proceed as follows:
CAUTION:
To avoid injury from escaping hydraulic oil under pressure, relieve the pressure from the system.
To relieve the hydraulic pressure, see Detaching from Tractor section.

Remove the nut, thin washer, if any, and cover from solenoid (some solenoid covers may have a thin washer beneath the cover which also should be removed) and lift solenoid from valve.

Remove metal washer (A) from valve.

Remove valve.
(Not Illustrated) Place valve in solvent and press poppet inside of valve back and forth to dislodge any foreign material from the valve.
Inspect the threads on both ends of the valve for rust or oxidation. Use a wire brush to clean the threads.
Install the valve in the valve block, replace metal washer, solenoid, thin washers (if any) cover and nut. If the problem still exists, replace the valve.
