3. Check singling brush for wear. If brush thickness is less than 3 mm (1/8 in.), or if the upper tip of brush (A) is below the top of the green retaining brush (B) when assembled in the meter, replace the singling brush. The rate of brush wear varies with field conditions, and is accelerated under sandy soil conditions.

4. Inspect the green retaining brush for wear. Development of a groove in the brush fibers above the singling brush is an indication that the singling brush needs to be replaced more frequently.

Wear of the green retaining brush at the cleanout "bump" (A) is normal and expected. The meter will operate properly with these fibers worn off.

5. Inspect knockout wheel for excessive wear. Replace if wheel fails to contact seed bowl.

6. Annual cleaning of the radial bean meter is recommended. Use mild detergent and a soft brush.

IMPORTANT: Use precautions as recommended by chemical manufacturers when handling parts coated with seed treatments. Use proper skin, eye, and respiratory protection.

NOTE: Thoroughly clean the seed bowl cell area and remove any excessive treatment buildup in the radial meter housing.

When installing seed bowl, be certain knockout wheel (A) is not pinched by seed bowl.
