Planters Equipped With Pivoting Center Mast and Single Lever Control Attachment (30-60 Series Row Crop Tractors)

IMPORTANT: Damage to planter may occur if mast links (A) contact stops (B) at any time EXCEPT planting position. Follow procedure outlined to adjust Single Lever Control Attachment so tractor rockshaft and planter lift-assist wheels raise and lower in correct sequence.

Before adjusting Single Lever Control Attachment, be sure planter is level and lift-assist wheels have been adjusted correctly. See PLANTERS EQUIPPED WITH PIVOTING CENTER MAST in this section.

1. Adjust as follows:

(30-60 Series Tractors) Adjust single lever control valve knob (A) fully clockwise. Then, back off one full turn.

2. Lift planter with remote cylinder operating lever.

3. Observe planter during raising cycle. Lift-assist wheels must raise rear of planter. The front and rear should raise evenly.

4. Readjust control valve knob as needed.

5. Loosen nut (B) on rockshaft cover valve (C). Turn valve fully clockwise and then back off one full turn to adjust drop rate of hitch.

6. Lower planter. Hitch and lift-assist wheels should be fairly even. Do not drop rear of planter first.

7. Readjust rockshaft cover valve as needed. Tighten nut.

8. Raise and lower planter several times.

Readjust rockshaft cover valve and single lever control valve as needed.

IMPORTANT: If planter has been driven rearward in the raised position, be certain to drive forward to allow lift-assist wheels to pivot rearward before lowering planter.

Help prevent damage to planting unit seed tubes or seed openers by lowering planter only when moving forward and do not drop rear of planter first.
