EXAMPLE 3: 1710 Twelve-Row Narrow
Let's assume you have an integral twelve-row planter with 76 cm (30 in.) rows and equipped with an insecticide and herbicide attachment and without lift-assist wheels. Checking the chart, you will find an implement code of 377 for the basic machine. Add to this an implement code for 78 for the insecticide code of 377 + 78 or 425.
Using this implement code, check FRONT END WEIGHTING in your tractor operator's manual to see how much front-end weight will be required.
NOTE:
To obtain minimum front end weighting for tractor-implement combinations where implement code information is not available, proceed as follows:
Drive tractor onto a scale and weight only the front wheels of the tractor without implement attached. Attach implement to tractor and place it in transport position. Weigh front wheels again. One-half of the original front end weight must remain with fully integral implement. 60% of the original front end weight must remain for implements with lift-assist wheels.
