Semi-Integral-Single Lever Control of Lift-Assist Wheels and Markers

Single lever control of rockshaft, lift-assist wheels and markers require the following procedure:

1. Disconnect 760 mm (30 in.) hose from 180 mm (7 in.) hose.

Tractor must be equipped with single lever control components (see your John Deere dealer for parts required). This system allows the hitch to be operated by oil flow from a SCV, which also operates the lift-assist wheels and markers.

2. Install male coupler with needle valve from lift-assist wheel cylinder piston into the left-hand extend port of the tractor's number 1 SCV coupler.

3. Connect the coupler at the tee on the hose to the lift assist wheel to the 760 mm (30 in.) line that feeds the hitch lift.

The 4555 through 4960 family has an E-H hitch control and requires the hitch coupler to be turned off when using the single lever control with switch in single lever control.

4. Install protective dust plug (not provided) into female coupler.

5. Attach existing lift-assist cylinder hose (that routes to rod ports) to the right-hand retract port of the tractor's number 1 breakaway coupler.

IMPORTANT: Be certain all hoses are secured clear of any points which may pinch or cut hoses when raising or lowering planter.
