V-Wings

The V-Wing moves the top layer of soil from a bed to allow the opener to run on a smooth surface and to plant in moist soil. It can be adjusted to skim the ground and remove clods when flat planting. The V-Wing frame is attached to the unit parallel arms to provide depth gauging by both the planter frame and the planting unit, thus reducing variations in uneven field conditions. This attachment cannot be used with 30 in. (76 cm) row spacing.

V-Wings may not perform satisfactorily in extremely trashy or sticky soils.

To adjust height of V-Wings, raise and turn adjustment knob on tillage support bracket. The tillage support bracket has a scale and pointer to help adjust all V-Wings evenly.

Adjust V-Wings to lightly contact soil surface when planting unit is in the planting position.

When adjustment is complete, back handle up and push down to lock in position.
