Connecting Hoses and Harnesses
CAUTION:
Hydraulic hoses can fail due to physical damage, kinks, age and exposure. Check hoses regularly. Replace damaged hoses.
If planter is equipped with vacuum metering system and automatic alternating markers, insert planter hydraulic hoses (A) into breakaway coupler number 1.
Insert flow control valve (D) (or cab mounted valve pressure hose (B) into right-hand side of breakaway coupler as illustrated.
Attach cab mounted flow control valve (D) to bracket outside of tractor cab.
If using a John Deere Tractor, install hydraulic motor return hose (C) into left-hand side of breakaway coupler.
Connect fold hoses (E) and (F) to breakaway coupler number 3.
NOTE:
For 1720 12-Row Narrow and 16-Row Narrow planters equipped with wing lift kit:
The wing lift cylinders may be plumbed directly to the lift assist wheel plumbing or tractor rockshaft.
For 1720 planters, color band codes are used when connecting hydraulic hoses.
