The base planter is equipped for flex operation and does not have wing wheel drives. The frame can be operated in flex-up and flex-down with five degrees flex in each direction. The flex-down can be locked out with flex-up only at five degrees. You cannot use wing wheel drive in these two flex modes. If a planter was shipped for rigid operation, it has the wing drives, which are required for rigid operation. To convert to flex, remove the four drive couplers on the countershaft.

Planters are shipped with all pins in locking position; Pin (1) in position (A), Pin (2) in position (B) and pin (3) in position (C).

TO REMOVE PIN (3) FOR FLEX OPERATION:

1. Relieve all fold cylinder pressure.

2. Remove Pin (3) and store in position (D).

3. Adjust frame wheels to the same level and lower planter on level ground.

4. Remove Pin (1) by changing the length of the top length until Pin (1) is free. Top link must be returned to original adjustment to make the wings level when folded.
