Leveling Wing Extensions-1710

The planter is equipped with wing extension hinge stops (A) and shims (B) which, when locked to the planter main frame, allow you to plant with a rigid main frame or limit the amount of down flex allowable.

causym CAUTION: Install transport locking straps (C) to help prevent accidental lowering of wing extensions while installing or removing hinge stops.

With the hinge stop, shims and bolts removed, the planter becomes flexible for planting in terraced or extremely uneven ground by allowing the wings to flex upward forty-five degrees or downward five degrees.

When operating the wings for flexing on uneven ground, the tractor SCV lever must be in the float position. To prevent end row units from touching the ground during a turn at the end of the field, pull the wing-fold cylinder SCV lever back to NEUTRAL before raising planter. Raise planter, make turn, then return wing-fold cylinder SCV lever to float position.

IMPORTANT: The wing-fold remote cylinder operating lever must be in the float position when wing extensions are not locked.

NOTE: The amount of down flex can be limited by installing stop and shims (A) and (B).

If upward flexibility is desired, but not downward flexibility, proceed as follows:

Raise wing extensions. Install M12 x 60 cap screws (E) with stop and shims. Lower wing extensions.

Install hinge stops and shims.

Lower the planter wing extensions.

If planter is not level, it may be necessary to remove one or more shims until frame is level.

Lock the wings to the planter main frame with one transport lock pin (D).
