Checking Fan Operation on 1900 Cart

causym CAUTION: Keep all persons away from machine when checking fan operation. Seed or fertilizer blowing out at high speed can strike someone causing blindness and other personal injuries.

IMPORTANT: Prior to setting fan speed allow tractor hydraulic oil to warm up to operating temperature. Cold oil will cause slower fan speeds.

Motor case drain hose must be connected before running fan, or motor shaft seal will fail within 30 seconds.

1. Set monitor to display fan RPM.

2. Mechanical SCV Controls: Pull SCV No. 3 (A) rearward momentarily to open return line; then push lever forward until held by lock clip (not shown).

Electro/Hydraulic SCV Controls: Pull back lever (A), then push forward and down until detent click is felt.

causym CAUTION: On tractors with mechanical SCV controls, checking and setting fan speed is a two person operation. Make sure assistant is well clear of machine before operating, or they may be severely injured or killed.

3. Mechanical SCV Controls: Have assistant adjust metering valve (A) until operator observes desired fan rpm on monitor. Leave metering valve in adjusted position and use SCV No. 3 control for on/off control.

Electro/Hydraulic SCV Controls: The operator presses button SCV No. 3 (D) to adjust fan speed. Turn time knob (C) to constant, and then turn flow control knob (B) until desired fan rpm is displayed on seed cart monitor. Press lock button to set fan speed and use No. 3 control lever for on/off control.
